Guardian

Created by specialists, operated to improve business' security

Our journey and the people behind defines Guardian and our way of doing things.

In 2005, Norman Kristiansen founded Guardian based on his more than 17 years in the Danish Special Operation Forces. He had experienced several situations where companies did not have the capability or resilience to manage unforeseen dangerous situations or crises that emerged when employees were travelling across the world.

He created Guardian to solve this problem. In 2013, Jens Serup, who is an internationally recognised expert on travel security, crisis management, kidnap for ransom, extortion, and threat management, joined Guardian as a partner.

In 2018 Norman and Jens partnered with Michael K. Sørensen, a successful entrepreneur. From his many years of corporate experience, Michael has gained a unique insight into emergency medical services, logistics, drone innovation, medical doctor services, public safety, security, defence intelligence, and IT solutions.

The three partners have now built an organisation with specialised and highly skilled experts to offer travel security and risk management solutions to support international actors and organisations operating in emerging markets and complex environments.

What we do

Security and risk management are important for any organisation. We have gathered some answers to the typical questions people ask us.

What is Duty of Care?

Duty of Care refers to the moral and legal obligation of an organisation to ensure the safety and wellbeing of its employees. Some countries have clearly defined laws regarding Duty of Care while others don’t. In any case, it is important that an organisation is compliant with Duty of Care best practices.

What is HEAT?

Hostile Environment Awareness Training or HEAT is a course designed for people who travel and work in high-risk areas. The training is internationally recognised and often a requirement before trips or deployments to medium- and high-risk areas.

What is a travel management platform?

A travel management platform is a digital tool that helps your organisation maintain a comprehensive overview of where all your travellers are. Our travel management platform enables you to check-in and maintain contact with your travellers, ensuring that their travels are proceeding according to plan; access risk information, so that you can provide your travellers with the tools that they need; and automatically be informed of relevant incidents across the globe that may affect your travellers, so that you can respond in a timely manner.
